I have explored repetition within my solo dance. This is through repeating the motif based on my stimulus on the painting of the child wanting to escape the reality in the world. The motif based on the stimulus is repeated to show the different stages within entrapment. For example, through changing the dynamics of the motif. The motif that I have developed through using different dynamics i.e. sharp and light. In order, to portray the levels of entrapment and hope. This allows me to use the style contemporary and to make it abstract illustrating a theme of entrapment. Entrapment is used in my dance to explore not being able to be free(due to be trapped in one place that you are unable to get out of. This is explored marking out a box in my solo dance to signify how society is keeping me down from moving forwards. The key action in the beginning of me when I am pushing my legs away on the floor suggests how I am using an action to lur into displaying and showing how flaws and weaknesses are holding me down from achieving and succeeding more. The section A of my solo dance features loads of gestural movements to connote how I am searching for freedom but is unable to break up from the trapment that I carry out within my dance to portray being alone and feeling as though even when you try so hard to reach out and fight you end up back in the same place as you was in the beginning. This is one of the main reasons that the theme of entrapment is significantly allows me to explore more with contemporary dance. Through being able to communicate the message that I am presenting with the theme using the A,B,A structure(tenary form). Through entrapment protraying coming back to the same place that you have started is captured within my dance. To show the different stages and significance of being entrapped and unable to escape.
